Our journey started with the successful organization of our very first event in 2018, which laid the foundation for what would soon become a vibrant community of fish lovers, breeders, manufacturers, importers, and retailers. As word spread, KFF began attracting exhibitors and participants from across the country, turning our events into a melting pot of talent, innovation, and aquatic beauty.

Mr. Ricky Sharma, Founder of Kolkata Fish Federation (KFF), envisions building a vibrant, ethical, and globally recognized ornamental fish community in India. As a dedicated breeder of Flowerhorn and Fancy Goldfish and the organizer of the Kolkata Pet Expo since 2019, his mission is to inspire more people to discover and embrace the beauty of the aquarium hobby.
His vision is to make fishkeeping more than just a pastime—it should become a passion that connects people with nature, encourages responsible fish care, and creates opportunities for learning, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Through exhibitions, competitions, educational programs, and community engagement, he aims to encourage hobbyists of all ages to develop their knowledge and skills.
Mr. Ricky Sharma believes that India has the potential to become one of the world’s leading centers for ornamental fish breeding and aquarium culture. By promoting ethical breeding practices, supporting hobbyists and breeders, and creating platforms where enthusiasts can share knowledge and showcase their talent, he hopes to elevate Indian fishkeeping to international standards.
Through the Kolkata Fish Federation and the Kolkata Pet Expo, his long-term vision is to unite breeders, aquarists, pet businesses, and aquarium enthusiasts under one platform, fostering collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth. His ultimate goal is to see the aquarium hobby grow stronger every year, reaching more families, inspiring future generations, and earning global recognition for India’s ornamental fish industry.
